Ideas for things to do during your stay at Kingairloch

Many of you already make wonderful plans for your holiday with us; let’s face it there are plenty of things that you can enjoy. However, if you are still scratching your head, here are a few ideas for what you can do during your stay at Kingairloch.

We recently met with Karl Bungey at Otter Adventures, a local firm based in Strontian who are the epitome of kayaking adventures and cycling tours. He can put together some wonderful adventures for all abilities and the best part is that you can start them right at Kingairloch! We are part of a perfect outdoor playground that is the Morvern Peninsula and by not having to get in your car to start your adventure, it adds to your overall experience of our beautiful part of the United Kingdom.

Otter Adventures With over 30 years of experience, you really are in safe hands with Karl. With a fleet of stable open canoes and a variety of touring and sea kayaks, they are able to offer a wide range of adventures and tours.

No problem, no matter whether you are after a half-day taster adventure, a full day epic journey, a multi-day leisurely expedition or paddle sport coaching, they will have something to suit your abilities and ambitions.

Whether you ride road, MTB or CX bikes, Otter Adventures aim to have something to suit everyone in the near future (so watch this space). No matter whether you are after family-friendly guided off-road routes or are wanting to build up the miles on the road passing through some stunning scenery.

At present they have a number of family-friendly half-day tours matched to your abilities and experiences, as well as full day guided tours for adults with some experience.

Don’t forget, you can also hire your own mountain bikes from Sunart Cycles who can deliver them to your cottage for the week or just a few days. As a guide, their tariffs are: 1day £25 2 days £40 3 days £60 ext  1 week £120, this includes a helmet and spare inner tube.

Clay Pigeon Shooting at Kingairloch

Clay pigeon shooting at KingairlochWe are once again able to offer clay pigeon shooting at Kingairloch. After a few years away from Kingairloch, Alex and Sue Hillman have returned to Kenmore House. Alex will be able to instruct novices through to advanced shots in our picturesque Glengalmadale glen. Shooting clays out of the sky in this glen with the echoing boom bouncing off the hills is an unforgettable experience. Guns, cartridges, clays, ear and eye protection and of course instruction are included. Groups up to four people, for an hour the tariff is £100. Guided Hill Walks on Kingairloch Footpaths or Open Hill Stony Path Leading To Mountains

Sometimes it can be a bit daunting heading out into the wilds of Kingairloch. If you would like to have a guide to show you our footpath routes or go further afield into the untamed hillside, Alex is able to provide this service. For those wishing to get close to the red deer, having a guide is a great way to ensure you are approaching deer from the best direction and also ensuring that disturbance is kept to a minimum.
