THE BOATHOUSE RESTAURANT

The Boathouse Restaurant is a beautifully renovated Victorian boathouse that now serves delicious cuisine that features food from the estate, the hills and the sea around us. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, the restaurant is a wonderful place to come and enjoy great food on the West Coast of Scotland, we’re now closed for the Winter and will be re-opening from April 2012.

WILD VENISON

We stalk red deer on the mountains around Kingairloch and butcher them in the purpose built deer larder. We use as much of the meat as possible from the tender fillets to the offal, turning this into delisious haggis. Read more about our vension.

SAMPLE MENU

Take a look at our sample menus to see what suits your taste…

GARDEN GROWN PRODUCE

Our walled garden provides the herbs, flowers, leaves, fruit and vegetables, for most of the dishes. Guests are always welcome to walk around the walled garden, a new addition to the garden this year will be a few hens that will be providing free range eggs. Read more about The Walled Garden

FRESHLY CAUGHT SEAFOOD

Our fantastic langoustines are creel caught in Loch Linnhe, wild salmon is netted in Cuil Bay, West coast scallops, oysters and brown crab are caught in local waters and our white fish are sourced from Scottish waters.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT…

We also thought you may want to know that when in season we also forage for wild mushrooms, garlic and woodland sorrel. We make our own fresh breads, oatcakes and cakes, giving them a different taste from using regular wheat. We also use Scottish rapeseed oil in dressings and cooking, giving a more nuttier flavour.

YOUR VERY OWN CHEF

Why not indulge during your holiday and have your own chef take care of the cooking during your stay?

We can provide guests staying in Kingairloch House and The Steadings with qualified chefs who will take care of  the menu planning, ordering, food preparation and serving. Prior to guests arriving, there will be a discussion of menu options and every attempt will be made to prepare requested dishes by guests.

Our chefs are able to prepare breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals using produce from the estate and the surrounding local area.

For guests wishing to learn how their meals are prepared, cooking demonstrations can also be organised.
