Stalking at Kingairloch

This most traditional Highland sporting activity has been enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds at Kingairloch for over 150 years. Today we manage the wild red deer population through selective culling to conserve and promote a healthy stable population and protect the natural habitat at Kingairloch. Our highly experienced stalkers will accompany you on your private outing, and will offer expert advice and tuition. Our stalkers are able to guide people of any ability – from those never having handled a firearm before, to seasoned stalkers.

Seasons

Stags

The stag season runs from 1 July to the 20 October (we do not commence stalking until the end of August, to allow the stags to develop their antlers, and shed the velvet).

Hinds

The hind season runs from the 21 October to the 15 February.

Accommodation

Stalkers and their partners can stay in Kingairloch House on a fully catered basis, with menus tailored to guests’ specific needs.  What could be better than recounting the day sat round the grand dining table and unwinding by the large open fire in the lounge. Guests can also choose to stay in our other self catering cottages which are located throughout the whole estate.

Guests must wear stout footwear, warm tweed or camouflage clothing (which is non rustling), a peaked hat and a pair of binoculars are also worth having. Guests not staying at Kingairloch should come with a packed lunch. Walking sticks are provided.

Be ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
